12. Kabir

Kabir was a great poet and saint who lived in India hundreds of years ago. He preached people to love each other. He went from place to place singing songs in praise of God. Years passed by and Kabir grew older. By then he had thousands of followers.

कबीर एक महान कवि और संत थे जो सैकड़ों वर्ष पहले भारत में रहते थे। उन्होंने लोगों को एक-दूसरे से प्रेम करने का उपदेश दिया। वे एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान पर भगवान की स्तुति में गीत गाते हुए गए। वर्ष बीत गए और कबीर बूढ़े हो गए। तब तक उनके हजारों अनुयायी हो चुके थे।

Kabir's songs and poems tell us that God is everywhere. His writings show that he was a true saint. A few of his couplets are given here which show that he was a great thinker and a social reformer too.

कबीर के गीत और कविताएँ हमें बताती हैं कि भगवान सर्वत्र हैं। उनके लेखन से पता चलता है कि वे एक सच्चे संत थे। यहाँ उनके कुछ दोहे दिए गए हैं जो दिखाते हैं कि वे एक महान विचारक और सामाजिक सुधारक भी थे।

Aisi bani boliye, man ka aapa khoye. Auran ko sital kare, apahu sital hoye.

कबीर खड़ा बाज़ार में, सबकी माँगे खैर। न काहू से दोस्ती, न काहू से बैर।

Kabir taught everyone to love God. He always said, "Kabir is the child of Allah and Ram." But people did not like this. They took him to the Emperor. The Emperor heard people's complaint and ordered his soldiers, "Throw this man into the river." The soldiers threw Kabir into the river. But he did not drown.

Kabir taut evryone to luv God. He olwayz sed, "Kabir iz the child of Allah and Ram." But peepal did not laik this. They took him to the Empirar. The Empirar hurd peepal’s komplaynt and ordard his soldjars, "Throw this man into the rivar." The soldjars throo Kabir into the rivar. But he did not draun.

कबीर ने सभी को भगवान से प्रेम करना सिखाया। वे हमेशा कहते थे, "कबीर अल्लाह और राम का बच्चा है।" लेकिन लोगों को यह पसंद नहीं आया। उन्होंने उसे सम्राट के पास ले गए। सम्राट ने लोगों की शिकायत सुनी और अपने सैनिकों को आदेश दिया, "इस आदमी को नदी में फेंक दो।" सैनिकों ने कबीर को नदी में फेंक दिया। लेकिन वह डूबा नहीं।

The next time they put him in a hut and set fire to it. The hut burnt down but Kabir was safe. Finally, they threw him in front of a mad elephant. Instead of killing Kabir, the elephant ran away without harming him. On being defeated several times, the emperor set Kabir free.

अगली बार उन्होंने उसे एक झोपड़ी में डाला और उसमें आग लगा दी। झोपड़ी जल गई लेकिन कबीर सुरक्षित रहा। अंत में, उन्होंने उसे एक पागल हाथी के सामने फेंक दिया। कबीर को मारने के बजाय, हाथी उसे नुकसान पहुँचाए बिना भाग गया। कई बार हारने के बाद, सम्राट ने कबीर को मुक्त कर दिया।

And when Kabir died his natural death, his followers quarrelled among themselves. The Muslims wanted to bury his body. The Hindus wanted to burn his body. Suddenly, the Hindus and the Muslims heard a voice from the sky. It was Kabir's voice. "Take the sheet off my body." When they removed the sheet, they did not find the body. In its place they found only some flowers. So the Muslims took one half of the flowers, while the Hindus took the other half.

And when Kabir daid his nachural deth, his folowars kworald among themselvs. The Muslims wantid to bery his body. The Hindus wantid to burn his body. Sudenly, the Hindus and the Muslims hurd a vois from the skai. It waz Kabir’s vois. "Tayk the sheet off my body." When they rimuvd the sheet, they did not find the body. In its plays they found only sum flowars. So the Muslims took wun half of the flowars, whail the Hindus took the othar half.

और जब कबीर की स्वाभाविक मृत्यु हुई, उनके अनुयायी आपस में झगड़ने लगे। मुस्लिम उनके शव को दफनाना चाहते थे। हिंदू उनके शव को जलाना चाहते थे। अचानक, हिंदुओं और मुस्लिमों ने आकाश से एक आवाज़ सुनी। यह कबीर की आवाज़ थी। "मेरे शव से चादर हटाओ।" जब उन्होंने चादर हटाई, तो उन्हें शव नहीं मिला। उसके स्थान पर उन्हें केवल कुछ फूल मिले। तो मुस्लिमों ने आधे फूल लिए, जबकि हिंदुओं ने बाकी आधे फूल लिए।
